'Successful year' as museum visitor numbers rise in Guernsey
Heritage bosses on the island say events held at some of the venues have boosted figures.
Visitor numbers to museums in Guernsey have risen year-on-year, official figures have shown.
The States of Guernsey said sites operated by Guernsey Museums had almost 66,000 visitors by the end of August, which it said represented a 3% increase compared to the same period in 2025.
It said events like the Castle Nights series and Twilight Cinema held at Castle Cornet over the summer also boosted figures with thousands of people attending.
Helen Glencross, head of culture and heritage services at the States, said the visitor numbers - which had since gone up to about 75,000 - showed the "strong appeal" of Guernsey's history.
"It has been fantastic to see such strong support for our events programme, alongside the many exhibitions and family activities offered throughout the season," Glencross said.
Fort Grey and the German Signals Headquarters closed on Sunday while Castle Cornet was shut on 6 September to enable restoration work to take place at the bridge next to the site.
The Guernsey Museum at Candie will remain open until 31 December, the States added.
