Kenneth Card claimed that he was served a sirloin instead of the filet mignon he ordered on three separate occasions at a Texas Roadhouse in Forsyth, Ill.
Texas Roadhouse said Card's complaint was "made right" by its team and that it could not confirm multiple incidents.
Card, who says he used to work in restaurants, sparked an online debate after sharing a video detailing his experience.
A Texas Roadhouse customer is claiming that the restaurant served him a cheaper steak than he ordered.
On Oct. 5, Kenneth Card shared a TikTok video , which now has over 31,000 views, calling out the steakhouse chain and claiming he was served a less expensive steak than he ordered three times.
In his video, Card said he ordered an 8-oz. filet mignon at the Forsyth, Ill. location of the steakhouse chain before being served a sirloin steak instead.
"I said, 'Excuse me, I think I got the wrong steak,'" Card recalled in the video, adding that the server went to get a "second opinion" before returning and confirming it was a sirloin steak.
Card said he told the waiter he went to the restaurant weekly for a year, and this was the third time the issue occurred.
He told Fox News Digital the staff corrected the mistake the first time it happened, and that he didn't complain the second time it occurred.
Card said in his video that he told a manager it was the third time he received a sirloin instead of the filet he ordered.
He claimed that the manager looked at him as if he was "stupid or crazy" and said it was "impossible" because the steak goes through a manager in the back.
Card said when he brought up the current mistake, the manager was unable to respond.
"While we can't confirm this happened on multiple occasions, when Mr. Card brought this to our attention; it was made right by our team," a spokesperson for Texas Roadhouse said in a statement shared with PEOPLE.
"We have processes in place to double-check food for quality and accuracy before it leaves the kitchen," they added. "If a guest receives the wrong item or is charged incorrectly, we encourage them to let a member of our team know so we can make it right."
In his video, Card said that he was a cook "for many years" and had experience with handling steaks.
"I know [the] difference between a ribeye, a filet, a t-bone, New York strip, all that crap," he said in the video. "Whenever I go out to eat, I know what I get."
Card previously worked in hotel and restaurant kitchens, per Fox News Digital .
"Y'all be careful what y'all ordering and what you pay for because sometimes you order a filet, you'd be getting a sirloin," he told his viewers. "It's like a $10 steak versus $35."
Per the Texas Roadhouse location's website , an 8-oz. sirloin costs $19.49, and the 8-oz. Dallas filet costs $29.99.
"Talking about getting ripped off!" Card wrote in the caption of his TikTok, also writing in text overlaying the video, "Texas Roadhouse shame on you!"
Card did not immediately reply to PEOPLE's request for comment.
Some users sympathized with Card's position in the comments section of his video.
"This has been going on for years," one person claimed.
Another added, "They've done this to me many times. Ordered New York strip or ribeye and I get a sirloin."
However, others questioned Card's point of view.
"I've never had an issue with Texas roadhouse," one commenter wrote.
"Why do you keep going back if this continues to happen?" another asked.
"I think I'm done going in there," Card told Fox News Digital .
He told the outlet he wanted to ensure that customers got what they paid for.
