Beverley Knight to sing Dolly Parton at Last Night of the Proms

Wolverhampton singer Beverley Knight is to perform one of Dolly Parton's best-known songs at this year's Last Night of the Proms.

Knight will sing I Will Always Love You as part of To Dolly, With Love, a tribute to the late country music star at the Royal Albert Hall on Saturday.

The medley, arranged by Fiona Bryce, also features Sheridan Smith performing 9 to 5 and country-pop duo Ward Thomas singing Jolene.

Parton died in August having had a seven-decade career gaining 10 Grammy awards and selling more than 100 million records worldwide. She was also known for her humanitarian work.

Knight's career has spanned more than 30 years, with the Wolverhampton-born singer known for hits including Shoulda Woulda Coulda and Get Up .

She has also played starring roles in the musicals The Bodyguard , Cats and The Drifters Girl .

The 2026 Proms season has included 86 concerts, with 72 Proms at the Royal Albert Hall and 14 at venues around the UK.

The Last Night programme will also feature world premieres by British composer Anne Dudley and Canadian composer and conductor Samy Moussa.

International pianist Yuja Wang will make her Proms debut performing Samuel Barber's Piano Concerto , while Scottish tenor Nicky Spence will perform excerpts from Antonín Dvořák's Rusalka and Frank Loesser's Guys and Dolls .

The traditional finale will include Rule, Britannia! , Jerusalem , Elgar's Pomp and Circumstance March No. 1 and Auld Lang Syne .

The Last Night of the Proms will be broadcast live on BBC Radio 3 from 19:10 BST Saturday bringing the BBC Proms' eight-week 2026 season to a close. It can also be seen on BBC 2 and BBC 1 and iPlayer.
