Washington is under siege. From rude reporters to pesky judges to ‘dum(b)’ lawmakers. And that headless Iranian regime that refuses to surrender despite threats of annihilation. But worry not. The commander-in-chief has monumental plans to make America safe again with drones, snipers and a whole lotta bang bangs stashed here there and everywhere across the town. His controversial fancy new $400 million ballroom, now coming up fast and furious on White House grounds after being green lighted by the Supreme Court on a technicality, will serve as a military complex with a bunker underneath and a big beautiful drone port on the top.And his triumphal arch envisioned as a project to honor America’s 250th anniversary, too would now be converted into a “top grade military complex … to house, store, and have the rapid ability to use large numbers of drones, plus Snipers.”“There will be no facility like this anywhere in the world,” boasted the POTUS claiming that his new plan came at the “strong request” of the U.S. military without saying what the arch, to be erected between the Lincoln Memorial and Arlington National Cemetery, would protect.National security remains DonaldTrump’s secret weapon. He has used it time and again to advance his pet projects and demolish his pet peeves from windmills to ‘fake news’ posing inconvenient questions and scooping embarrassing leaks. After citing it as a reason to pause the construction of wind farms off the East Coast, Trump argued his ban on CNN, MS Now and Politico entering the White House grounds too was necessary because they posed a national security threat. But a federal judge “sadly, appointed by ‘TRUMP’” did not buy the national security threat argument and restored their White House access for now. And the White House TV pool, which had for once resorted to a boycott of White House coverage to deprive Trump of the oxygen of attention he craves, too was back on the job.Yet in a latest escalation with news media, the White House still blocked CNN, which was scheduled to fly with Trump to Tennessee for a college football game, from Air Force One.Earlier, outdoing himself, Trump told world leaders at the United Nations Tuesday that he had a decision to make on Iran: strike a deal with Tehran or “annihilate the Islamic republic.”“Will a deal be made with Iran that lets them rebuild and create a far greater country than it ever ‌was before?” …or “Do I drive them into hell with no chance of survival and no hope of future greatness or generations?” he thundered even as the two sides kept talking on the sidelines. In a defiant speech next day, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian vowed his country would defend itself until “its last breath,” but he too left the door open for negotiations with the U.S.“It must be understood by Mr. Trump and those who seek to bully us that we are ready for dialogue and diplomacy and negotiations without accepting the language of force,” he said directly naming his adversary.Back in Washington, Trump again likened calls to slow development of artificial intelligence as a “globalist scheme” hatched by the same forces he blamed for warnings of climate change.Part of the answer, he said, was to change its name. Henceforth it would cease to be called “artificial” (“it makes it sound fake – and it’s not fake”) and would be called “super intelligence” in all U.S. government documents.“Welcome to the new world of super intelligence,” he posted after holding a poll between ‘Superior’ and ‘Extreme Intelligence’ on Truth Social after knocking out ‘Supreme Intelligence’… “because of its relationship to the Supreme Court.”Earlier, brushing away suggestions to slow down AI technology, Trump announced plans to appoint an artificial intelligence czar and create an “AI Force” to help monitor the technology.“I am forming the AI Force, much like I did Space Force, which has been a tremendous SUCCESS, in my First Term. To that end, I will be announcing, in the near future, the AI ‘Czar’ – Only High I.Q. individuals need apply!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.Vowing that his administration “will not in any way hinder or stifle the Growth of this incredible Industry,” Trump suggested that any “bad actors” in AI industry could be addressed by criminal and civil systems of justice.“AI is the next Industrial Revolution, or Internet, but will be even larger and more impactful, possibly as much as 25% of our Country’s GDP,” Trump predicted, concluding that the U.S. is “leading China, and the rest of the World, and I intend to keep it that way”.Then as Chinese president Xi Jinping came calling for a first State visit in 11 years, Trump greeted him with pomp and ceremony and a mandatory stop at the “legendary Presidential Walk of Fame” with his predecessor represented by an autopen. “This is the autopen… it’s Biden.” he told an amused Xi.It wasn’t clear what the summit achieved, but Trump described it as a “very productive meeting with President Xi for both the U.S.A. and China” with at least one tangible outcome.“Like almost everyone else, he seemed to like calling the poorly and inaccurately named Artificial Intelligence to a far more accurate and important name, SUPER INTELLIGENCE. That would be “SUPER!”’ he posted on Truth Social.Earlier, standing in the White House’s Grand Foyer Xi said both the U.S. and China “have the capability and responsibility to develop and manage AI for good and ensure that the development of AI is always under human control.”But who will keep the world safe from the Don tilting at windmills!(By arrangement with The American Bazaar)You use AI every day.
