Patna: CM Samrat Choudhary on Saturday asked officials concerned to complete mapping of 9,000 acres identified for an industrial area in Jamui within 10 to 12 days with details clearly showing the extent of forest land and the portion currently under forest cover.Choudhary issued the directions during a visit to Jamui, where he chaired a review meeting and asked officials to compile complete details of the land by Oct 30 and prepare an action plan. Jamui district magistrate Navin informed the CM that nearly 9,000 acres had been identified in Chakai block. Of this, around 5,000 acres belong to the department of environment, forest and climate change, while 4,000 acres fall under raiyati and other categories.The CM also ordered a detailed assessment of the actual status of the 4,000 acres of raiyati and other-category land. He said the circle officer, deputy collector land reforms and officials of the revenue and land reforms department should be involved in the verification.Choudhary asked officials to develop Lachhuar Mandir and Garhi Dam as tourist centres, saying this would create employment opportunities for local residents. He asked the administration to prepare a work plan to expand public facilities at Lachhuar Mandir and arrange accommodation for devotees.Reviewing law and order, Choudhary asked officials to strengthen policing and ensure regular patrolling. He asked the DM and SP to visit police stations and review their functioning. He also directed officials to prepare a public awareness campaign on de-addiction, along with continued police action and administrative alertness.Accompanied by industries minister Shreyasi Singh and transport minister Damodar Rawat, the CM inspected an ethanol plant under construction in Chakai. Officials said production was expected to begin by March 2027.The DM said the plant, being developed on 105 acres, would have a capacity of 1,000 kilolitres per day, producing about 10 lakh litres of ethanol daily. A 20-megawatt captive power facility would also be installed.
