Man asks youths to remove Audi blocking road in Ghaziabad's Indirapuram, thrashed

GHAZIABAD: In yet another road rage incident in Delhi-NCR, a 30-year-old man has been arrested for assaulting a youth who asked him to move his car parked in the middle of a road near Harsha City Mall in Shakti-Khand, Indirapuram.Kartik, who was assaulted, told the cops he had been travelling with a friend in his car when he found an Audi parked in the middle of the road at 2am on Thursday. He said he asked the occupants to move the vehicle to allow traffic to pass, following which an argument broke out. Kartik alleged there were two men and a woman inside the car and they were allegedly drinking.After a verbal altercation, the man in the driver’s seat stepped out and started thrashing him. He allegedly also picked up stones lying in the vicinity and hurled them at Kartik.Several passers-by recorded the incident and the videos have since surfaced on social media. In one such video, Kartik can be seen getting pushed down to the ground and then being kicked and punched repeatedly. A woman, later identified as the wife of one of the men seated in the Audi, is also seen trying to stop the men. A few cars had lined up at the spot where the altercation broke out.Based on Kartik’s complaint, a case has been registered under BNS sections for assault or criminal force, criminal intimidation and intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace at the Indirapuram police station against two men — Rahul Mohan and Madhav — who run a gym business.A press statement issued by the cops said they arrested Mohan on Thursday. “The Audi that allegedly caused the stir was also seized,” it read.ACP Suryabali Maurya said efforts were being made to trace the other accused. He said Mohan told the cops that he stopped his Audi near the mall when Kartik asked him to move the vehicle. “I signalled him to wait, but he did not listen and I got angry, following which an argument broke out.
