Home decor, building materials draw crowds at expo

Trichy: Archmat 2026, a three-day art and architectural exhibition showcasing building materials and interior decoration products, began at Kalaignar Arivalayam hall near Chathiram bus stand in Trichy city on Friday. The exhibition showcasing recent innovations in building materials as well as electrical and electronic products for properties, saw home buyers prioritising decorative and functional items over conventional materials.Smart LED lights, surface materials, home accessories and security devices are among the exhibits. Organised jointly by Indian Institute of Architects (Trichy centre) and ArchTrust, Trichy, the exhibition has 66 stalls.“Buyers are keen to improve the aesthetics of their properties with better interior decorations and artistic products. Cladding stones with LED lights have come for exterior walls; voice controlled electrical systems, automated lights for safety, modern switches, and lifts for multi-level residential properties are most sought after,” Bala Harikrishnan, a convener of the expo, said.Materials for environment-friendly and green energy buildings are displayed too. As the narrow staircases of old residential properties in Rockfort, Woraiyur and Srirangam are difficult to access for senior citizens, many enquired about portable lifts to be installed in such properties. Organisers said buyers spend money on aesthetics of their properties to boost resale value. The exhibition will serve as a platform for home buyers and people keen to renovate their old properties to meet industry experts, architects, interior decoration professionals and building material manufacturers, architects said. You Can Also Check: Gold Rate in Trichy | Silver Rate in Trichy | Bank Holidays in Trichy | Public Holidays in TrichyStay updated with the latest Trichy news.
