Tirupati factory blast: 2 killed, 12 injured in explosion at pharma factory near Sri City

TIRUPATI: Two persons were reported dead and at least 12 others sustained injuries in an explosion reported at a Pharmaceutical factory near Sri City in Tirupati district on Saturday.According to the local police, a massive explosion was reported at TIL healthcare factory at around 8 am on Saturday.The intensity of the explosion was so severe that two persons were killed on the spot and several other staffers working in the night shift sustained severe injuries.Chaos prevailed at the explosion site and nearby locals rushed to the rescue of the injured workers.Sri City police, who received an alert about the explosion, rushed to the spot along with ambulances and shifted the injured to the nearby hospitals.Preliminary police investigation revealed that an explosion in a boiler resulted in the tragedy.Srikalahasti legislator Bojjala Sudheer Reddy expressed shock over the incident and directed officials to extend best healthcare for the injured factory workers.He assured that the state govt will do all in it’s capacity to extend support to the bereaved families.Tirupati YSRCP MP Dr M Gurumoorthy expressed anguish over the incident and demanded a probe to ascertain the sequence of events that led to the factory mishap in which two factory workers were reported dead.Gurumoorthy also wondered if adequate security protocols were adhered to prevent such mishaps in the first place.You Can Also Check: Gold Rate in Vijayawada | Silver Rate in Vijayawada | Bank Holidays in Vijayawada | Public Holidays in Vijayawada | Petrol Price in Vijayawada | Diesel Price in Vijayawada | CNG Price in Vijayawada | LPG Price in VijayawadaStay updated with the latest Vijayawada news.
