Noida: Residents of Nirala Greenshire in Sector 2 of Greater Noida West have sought urgent repairs to a damaged boundary wall along the sector’s main road, which separates the complex from Nirala Trio. The wall, opposite towers G-11, G-12 and G-14, has remained damaged for nearly a year, raising safety and sanitation concerns. Residents also want nonfunctional streetlights and broken roads in the sector fixed before Diwali.According to residents, stray dogs have been gathering in the area. Overgrown bushes and inadequate lighting have also led to concerns over snakes and other wildlife. The lack of action from society management and GNIDA has turned the area potentially hazardous, they said.“The boundary wall has been damaged for nearly a year, posing safety and sanitation risks. Despite repeated complaints, there’s been no action taken. Residents want repairs before Diwali,” said Kapil Khare, a resident of the complex. The area around the damaged wall has also become a dumping ground. The current state of the spot has heightened safety concerns, particularly for children and senior citizens.“The problem has also affected approximately 100 designated parking spaces, which are exposed in the open in the absence of the boundary wall, causing considerable inconvenience to residents for an extended period. With Diwali approaching, the continued neglect of this issue is particularly concerning. Residents have urged Nirala management, GNIDA, and the police to intervene immediately and take appropriate action,” Khare added. With the festival approaching, residents are feeling an added sense of urgency. They have issued a set of demands to Nirala management and GNIDA, including prompt repair of the damaged boundary, removal of garbage and C&D waste near the wall, maintenance of overgrown bushes and provision of regular cleaning, installation of adequate street lighting to ensure safety during nighttime, and a transparent action plan with a definitive timeline for the completion of these tasks.Additionally, residents have also expressed concerns over nonfunctional streetlights in the area that plunge the roads into darkness on a nightly basis. Broken roads in desperate need of a revamp also add to the risk of accidents and dust pollution here.“With increased foot traffic, especially liquor shops nearby, we fear potential safety incidents if the situation remains unaddressed,” Khare said. When asked, Nirala estate management told TOI that the wall will be repaired soon. GNIDA officials, meanwhile, said that the streetlights have been turned off on the stretch due to road-broadening work and will be made functional again soon. You Can Also Check: Gold Rate in Noida | Silver Rate in Noida | Bank Holidays in Noida | Public Holidays in Noida | Noida AQI | Weather in Noida | Petrol Price in Noida | Diesel Price in Noida | CNG Price in Noida | LPG Price in NoidaStay updated with the latest Noida news.
