The air feels crisp, the leaves are starting to turn and you can finally bundle up in your favorite sweater s — yep, it's officially fall. And in my humble opinion, one major plus of the seasonal shift is the reintroduction of pumpkin spice everything. Beyond those Pumpkin Spice Lattes from Starbucks, you'll find fall-flavored yogurt, popcorn, granola, cookies, protein bars and more. (There are even pumpkin-spiced treats for your dog !)

Of course, some of these snacks are better than others, and while I've tried a lot of them, I turned to professional chefs with impeccable palates to hear about their favorites. Yes, even chefs like pumpkin spice! Here are nine supermarket finds they say are worth adding to your shopping cart.

This pumpkin pie flavor comes with a pumpkin cookie crumble that makes the high-protein cup (12 grams to be exact!) taste more like dessert. "For pumpkin spice yogurts, the Seattle original Elleno's Pumpkin Pie yogurt is where it's at," says Megan Keno, food blogger and the author of Cast Iron Gourmet . "It's not overly sweet, and it has the tang of a high-quality Greek yogurt. The pumpkin crunchy toppings just seal the deal."

Of course, Starbucks created the PSL, but if you prefer to make your coffee at home , you can trust its creamer to help you get the same flavor. It's even chef-approved! "It's very convenient and works amazingly well with a stronger coffee because the cinnamon, nutmeg and pumpkin flavors come out well without needing those extra syrups," says Ribe Rubio, a private chef with Platesfull .

If you enjoy a sweet cinnamon raisin bagel, we'll assume you're down for a similarly sweet topping like this pumpkin spice cream cheese. "This is versatile and works well on a toasted bagel or English muffin, but one can also use it on dessert dishes," Rubio says.

Before its yearly advent calendar sells out, fans go wild for another Bonne Maman seasonal offering. "Limited, but worth the hunt, is Bonne Maman's Pumpkin Spice Spread," says Keno. "Putting this on just basic toast in the morning with coffee is a fall-coded way to start the day. It's got all the warm fall spices with cinnamon, nutmeg and clove but isn't cloyingly sweet."

This is another one of Rubio's favorites. (FYI, it's just pancake mix, but made with gluten-free oats.) Just add water, mix, pour and cook to make yourself a tasty, heaping stack. Rubio describes the pumpkin spice flavor as "very subtle and natural" and says it "gives you the fall flavor without being overly sweet."

If you don't want to use creamer in your coffee to get the pumpkin spice flavor, try this simple syrup. It's "a great way to bring those seasonal pumpkin and warm spice flavors into coffee or lattes at home," says Kit Skarstrom, executive chef at Conrad New York Downtown in NYC. "The addition of butternut squash gives it a little more nuance than a traditional pumpkin spice syrup, while still delivering those familiar fall flavors people look forward to this time of year." (It's also great in cocktails or as a sweetener in desserts.)

Been to a Trader Joe's lately? The store has reached expert level when it comes to its pumpkin spice fall treats. Katherine Sprung , pastry chef and founder of NYC's Squish Marshmallows, recommends its yogurt-coated pumpkin spice pretzels. "I love yogurt pretzels, and these just give that extra-cozy feeling of fall, my favorite season! I also love anything salty-sweet, so it's really a great combo."

The chefs I spoke with raved about this TJ's treat. While it's called a sheet cake, it's a miniature one — it serves 4-6 people. But hey, no shame if you want to get one just for yourself and enjoy a slice with your PSLs in the afternoons.

"If you need a pre-baked pumpkin spice treat, the only one you need is Trader Joe's Pumpkin Spice Mini Sheet Cake," says Keno. "Just don't even bother elsewhere. It's moist and has a thick layer of cream cheese frosting on top. It's my guilty pleasure when I don't want to bake for myself."

Rubio adds that "the warm spices [are] noticeable but not overpowering."

Plenty of the chefs I spoke with said they make their own pumpkin spice treats using real pumpkin. " Libby's pumpkin purée with a good spice blend beats anything pre-flavored on the shelf, but if we're talking ready-made, King Arthur Pumpkin Spice Blend is the one I keep stocked," says Daniel P. Craig, chef and founder of Kitchen Deets .

This mix of cinnamon, ginger, clove, allspice and nutmeg doesn't contain sugar or artificial sweeteners. "Most grocery-store pumpkin spice products bury the pumpkin under sugar; this one respects the spice itself and lets me build sweetness separately," Craig adds.
