DEHRADUN/HARIDWAR: CBI served a notice on actress Urmila Sanawar regarding a possible narcoanalysis test in connection with the 2022 Rishikesh resort murder case.Sanawar had released audio recordings allegedly linking senior BJP leader Dushyant Gautam to the ‘VIP’ controversy surrounding the killing. The actress said on Wednesday that she was willing to undergo the test and cooperate with investigators, claiming it could help establish the truth and identify others allegedly connected with the case. The development followed CBI’s recent questioning of expelled BJP leader and former MLA Suresh Rathore, whose alleged conversations with Sanawar had surfaced in the recordings.Sanawar, who had earlier released several audio clips purportedly involving Rathore, claimed the recordings contained references to Gautam as the alleged ‘VIP’ in the case. The allegations made in the recordings remain unsubstantiated, and investigators had not announced any findings linking Gautam to the murder. Gautam has also vehemently denied the allegations.Speaking to TOI on Thursday, Sanawar said, “A notice regarding the narco test was served by the CBI and I am happy about that. Though I am suffering from fever, I will reach Dehradun on Friday.”She also posted a video on social media expressing her willingness to undergo the procedure, even suggesting that it be conducted live.During an earlier police inquiry, investigators had seized Sanawar’s mobile phone and sent the disputed audio recordings for forensic examination along with voice samples of Rathore and Sanawar.Meanwhile, the victim’s parents said they were awaiting further developments in the probe, particularly the proposed narcoanalysis tests.Stay updated with the latest Dehradun news.
