NTA invites applications for Librarian posts in Delhi; check eligibility criteria, selection process and how to apply

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has invited applications for the post of Librarian - Administration on a contractual basis. The recruitment notice lists two vacancies for the post at the NTA headquarters in New Delhi.Eligible candidates must submit their applications by email within 15 days from the date of publication of the advertisement. Applications must include the prescribed form, a detailed CV and self-attested copies of documents supporting educational qualifications and work experience.The appointment will initially be for two years. It may be extended based on the candidate's performance and the organisation's requirements.Eligibility criteriaThe eligibility requirements differ for candidates applying from the open market and retired government officials.For candidates from the open market:A bachelor's degree in Library Science or Library and Information Science from a recognised university or institute.At least five years of experience in library management.For retired government officials:Applicants must have retired from the Central or State Government, public sector undertakings (PSUs) or autonomous bodies.They must have served as a Librarian, Deputy Librarian, Assistant Librarian, Library and Information Officer or in an equivalent post.A minimum of five years of experience in library management is required.Age limit and salaryThe maximum age limit for applicants is 50 years. For retired government officials, the age limit is 62 years. The age will be calculated as of the date of publication of the advertisement.The notice states that selected candidates will receive a consolidated monthly remuneration based on their qualifications, experience and industry benchmarks. The amount will be decided by the competent authority.Skills required for the Librarian postCandidates should have experience in library management and related systems. The notice lists the following skills:Knowledge of library management software.Experience in managing digital databases and computer systems.Familiarity with automated cataloguing systems.Good organisational skills.Ability to manage multiple tasks.The role includes managing the NTA library, organising print and digital materials, maintaining library records and providing reference and information services to NTA officers and staff.How to apply for NTA Librarian recruitment 2026Eligible candidates must apply through email. They should follow these steps:Prepare the application in the format provided in Annexure I of the recruitment notice.Attach a detailed CV or resume.Include self-attested copies of educational qualification certificates and experience certificates or appointment letters.Attach copies of relevant professional certifications, the latest salary slip or Form 16, and a government-issued photo identity document, as applicable.Include a No Objection Certificate (NOC) if currently employed by a government organisation, PSU or autonomous body.Send the application and supporting documents to recruitment@nta.ac.in.The email subject line should be: Application for the Post of Librarian, NTA.Applications must reach NTA within 15 days of the advertisement's publication on the official website. Late applications and applications submitted in a format other than the prescribed one will not be considered.Retired government officials may apply directly with the relevant retirement or release documents.Selection processNTA will shortlist eligible candidates based on the criteria set by the competent authority. Shortlisted applicants may be called for an interview.Meeting the minimum educational and experience requirements does not guarantee an interview.
