NTA exam calendar 2026-27 released: UGC-NET From December 14, JEE Main 2027 Session 1 From January 22, CUET PG In March

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released its tentative examination calendar for the December 2026 to March 2027 period. The calendar entails UGC-NET, Joint CSIR -UGC NET, JEE Main 2027 session 1, NIFT Entrance examination, CMAT, CUET PG, and other tests. The schedule is intended to assist candidates and educational institutions in planning their academic and examination timelines. However, NTA has stated clearly that the dates are tentative and may be revised due to administrative, academic, statutory, logistical, or other unforeseen circumstances.UGC-NET December 2026 exam from December 14The December 2026 cycle of the University Grants Commission-National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) is proposed to be conducted from December 14 to 19, 2026. NTA has kept December 20 and 21 as buffer dates for the examination.The Joint CSIR-UGC NET December cycle is scheduled for December 20 and 21, 2026. The two examinations will therefore form the major eligibility-test schedule for candidates pursuing teaching, research and fellowship opportunities during the December cycle.NTA has been conducting UGC-NET since December 2018. The examination determines eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor positions, as well as Assistant Professor eligibility, depending on the candidate's performance and applicable rules.JEE Main 2027 Session 1 scheduled across six daysFor engineering aspirants, the major date in the January calendar is the JEE Main 2027 Session 1 examination.NTA has proposed the first session on:January 22 to 24, 2027January 28 to 30, 2027January 31, 2027: Buffer dateThe examination will be conducted over six scheduled days, with January 31 reserved as a buffer date. Candidates should note that the calendar provides the proposed examination window and does not replace the detailed JEE Main information bulletin.The JEE Main is used for admission to undergraduate engineering programmes at participating institutions and also serves as an eligibility examination for JEE Advanced. NTA conducts JEE Main in multiple sessions as part of the admission process.NIFT, SHRESHTA and Sainik Schools exams in JanuaryThe January schedule also includes examinations for different categories of candidates.The NIFT Entrance Examination is proposed for January 10, 2027. The SHRESHTA (NETS) examination is also scheduled for January 10.The All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination (AISSEE) is proposed for January 31, 2027.The month will begin with the Army Cadets College examination on January 4, while the JEE Main Session 1 examination will occupy the latter part of the month.CMAT scheduled for February 7The February calendar is shorter, with two examinations listed by NTA. The Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) 2027 is proposed to be held on February 7, 2027.This will be followed by NITTT Part 1, scheduled for February 26 and 27.
