Trump says he’ll spend ‘a lot’ of MAGA Inc. funds in midterms

President Trump said he’s prepared to spend “a lot” of money from his MAGA Inc. campaign account to support Republican candidates this midterm cycle.

“Well, I’ve raised a lot, and nobody knows what it is, but I will tell you it’s about $850 million,” Trump said before boarding Air Force One to fly to South Carolina. “I’ll be spending a lot of that money for — and my own money — but I’ll be spending a lot of that money for candidates that I think are good, Republican candidates.”

Election forecasters favor Democrats to win the House and give Republicans a slight edge in the Senate race, though momentum is moving against the GOP, due largely to Trump’s sinking approval and the Iran war.

MAGA Inc. is a super PAC that heavily supported Trump’s 2024 campaign.

Trump said earlier this month in an interview with Punchbowl News that he could “spend it on pretty much anything” he wants.

“I’m going to help Republicans,” he said.

So far, the super PAC hasn’t spent any money on candidates in June or July.

Some Republicans told Politico last month that they wish the president would start opening up the coffers to help GOP candidates.

James Blair, a top Trump political adviser who oversees the super PAC, said the president “is going to expend substantial resources to win the midterms.”

“He cares deeply about the party winning and anything he can do to support that he is going to do and is already doing,” Blair said on “The Sean Spicer Show” in June.

He wouldn’t say when the money would be sent, only that it would be “very soon.”
