President Trump will bring his red state campaign tour to Tennessee on Saturday to headline a rally in Clarksville.
The Republican National Committee announced Trump’s stop in Tennessee, which comes just weeks after he attended the Texas-Tennessee college football game in Knoxville.
Tennessee is home to solidly Republican gubernatorial and Senate races.
Earlier this week, Trump traveled to ruby red Nebraska to campaign for incumbent Sen. Pete Ricketts (R-Neb.), who is facing an increasingly competitive reelection bid. Trump rallied in Oklahoma and Alabama last week.
After Saturday’s rally, Trump is scheduled to travel to Tuscaloosa, Ala., for the Georgia-Alabama game. However, the president told reporters in the Oval Office on Wednesday that his attendance will depend on the weather as Tropical Storm Isaias threatens the Gulf region.
“If there’s an emergency, if there’s a hurricane, I don’t want to do anything to take the focus off all of the great people that work in those things,” he said.
Trump’s move to visit a number of red states comes as Republicans face uphill battles in other races across the country. Trump said last week that he is visiting red states as “a sign of respect.”
The president has recently visited other competitive states as well including Texas and Ohio.
