Network of 100 fake X accounts targeting Ofer Winter removed from social media platform

FakeReporter found that the accounts published hundreds of posts against Winter, with more than half being shared in a single hour.

Social media platform X on Thursday removed an influence network comprising about 100 fake accounts with AI-generated profile pictures that operated in a coordinated manner against People of Israel chairman Brig.-Gen. (res.) Ofer Winter, according to an investigation by the FakeReporter initiative.

The investigation, which led to the network being blocked with assistance from the Israel Internet Association, found that the accounts published hundreds of posts against Winter. More than half of the posts were published within a single hour, one day after he announced the establishment of his party.
