Sticker company CEO Anthony Constantino (R) is projected to win Rep. Elise Stefanik’s (R-N.Y.) open House seat, according to Decision Desk HQ (DDHQ), The Hill’s partner.
Constantino, who was endorsed by President Trump, defeated Democrat Blake Gendebien and independent Christopher Schmidt in the race to represent the Empire State’s 21st District. Republicans were likely to win the seat, per DDHQ. The Republican notched just under 51 percent of the vote, with more than 95 percent of the vote tallied as of Wednesday afternoon.
While on the campaign trail, Constantino touted his record as a successful business owner of Sticker Mule. According to its website , the company is based in New York but also has manufacturing facilities in South Carolina and Italy.
Outside of his work, Constantino also noted his participation in boxing tournaments — winning his debut match in Coacalco, Mexico, a town just north of Mexico City.
He campaigned on eliminating government waste, lowering utility pricing, securing the country’s northern border and growing New York’s Republican Party, according to his campaign website .
Stefanik, who held the seat for six terms and is seen as rising star within the GOP, opted to not seek reelection and elected to instead run in New York’s gubernatorial race.
She dropped her gubernatorial bid last December in a stunning announcement from the lawmaker, who once rose in leadership to be the House’s No. 4 Republican .
