Democratic socialist Chris Rabb is projected to win Pennsylvania’s 3rd Congressional District, according to Decision Desk HQ (DDHQ) .
The Keystone State’s 3rd Congressional District has been labeled as one of the bluest districts in the nation, and Rabb will now succeed Rep. Dwight Evans (D), who has held the seat since 2019.
Rabb faced no Republican candidate in particular, and Dennis Mahoney was listed as an Independent on the ballot.
First elected in 2016, Rabb has served five terms in the Pennsylvania state House representing a majority Black, mixed-income legislative district in northwest Philadelphia.
Now, he will take over Evans’s seat in the 3rd Congressional District, made up of west, northwest, north and Center City Philadelphia.
Rabb has notably received endorsements from Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), Illan Omar (D-Minn.), Summer Lee (D-Pa.), Maxwell Frost (D-Fla.), Jamie Raskin (D-Md.), Ro Khanna (D-Calif.) and more. He was also endorsed by Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.).
