Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) on Thursday denounced President Trump’s latest attack on Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed as “bigoted bulls‑‑‑.”

Schumer wrote on social platform X , “Abdul El-Sayed is on the road to being the next Senator from Michigan no matter how much bigoted bulls‑‑‑ a weak and desperate Donald Trump throws at him.”

Late Wednesday evening, Trump blasted El-Sayed as a “terrible” candidate whose views “are not exactly those of Michiganders” or Americans.

“Mohammed El-Sayed is a terrible Candidate for the Dumocrats,” Trump wrote on Truth Social , using his nickname for Democrats. El-Sayed’s full name is Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed.

The president also wrote that El-Sayed, who is Muslim, is a “RADICAL Extremist” and a “Terrorist Sympathizer.”

The Democratic Senate nominee, who is facing off against former Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Mich.) in the race to succeed Sen. Gary Peters (D-Mich.), was born in Michigan to Egyptian immigrants.

El-Sayed fired back at the president on Thursday, saying Trump “knows my name is Abdul.”

The Democrat wrote on X , “He says it everyday. But he’s not just attacking me. He’s attacking all of us. He thinks so low of us.

“He thinks he can use my name and my faith to distract us from the suffering his policies are inflicting on us at the pump, at the grocery store, and at the doctor’s office. He thinks we don’t know any better.”

Trump has frequently gone after the progressive El-Sayed since he defeated Rep. Haley Stevens (D-Mich.) in the August Democratic primary , using the Senate hopeful’s Muslim faith to cast him as extreme.

In August, Trump posted a split screen of himself and first lady Melania Trump alongside El-Sayed and his wife, Dr. Sarah Jukaku, who is wearing a hijab.

“Two VERY DIFFERENT America’s,” the caption of the split screen stated.

El-Sayed earlier this week challenged the president to campaign for Rogers in Michigan, saying the Republican nominee “can’t speak for” himself.

“Clearly, you are the answer, and you should tell everybody why they should imagine you on the ballot,” the Democrat told MS NOW’s “All In,” directing his remarks at the president.

Decision Desk HQ , a partner of The Hill, gives El-Sayed a 69 percent chance to defeat Rogers. Early voting has already started in some communities and will be available statewide starting Oct. 24.
