The Aug. 26, 2021, suicide bombing outside Kabul’s airport killed 13 U.S. service members and roughly 170 Afghan civilians as the U.S. carried out its swift withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan under former President Biden.
The ceremony comes as the Trump administration continues its probe of the incident.
The Defense Department earlier this year upgraded the valor awards that were originally given to the service members.
The event is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m. EDT.
