Watch live: Trump speaks amid tariff battles, signs order for ‘Lake America’

President Trump will speak with reporters Thursday as the Trump administration faces scrutiny over his trade war with Canada , looming sanctions on Iran amid the nearly six-month conflict and after he paused higher tariffs on ground beef.

The president signed an executive order during the event to rename Lake Ontario to “Lake America.” He first floated the idea after Canadian leaders rejected terms of a potential trade deal last week.

Later Thursday, Trump will travel to Houston to attend a fundraising event hosted by the Republican National Committee.

The event is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. EDT.
