Nicki Minaj joined President Trump at a campaign rally Sunday and said that she would support him if he chose to run again.
“So, President Trump, it is an honor to stand with you every single time, and I will continue to support you forever and ever. If you run again, I will support you again,” Minaj said while campaigning with Trump in Michigan for former Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Mich.).
The singer who has dubbed herself as Trump’s “ No. 1 fan ” and has worked with the Trump administration on several initiatives — including the debut of the Trump Accounts — and traveled with administration officials aboard Air Force One to the rally.
White House communications director Steven Cheung even floated the possibility of her serving as the next Press Secretary. It’s unclear how serious Cheung is being about hiring Minaj as one of the administration’s top officials.
“Ladies and gentlemen, I think we may have found the new White House Press Secretary! @NICKIMINAJ,” he wrote on social platform X Sunday alongside a video of him and Minaj seated aboard Air Force One.
In the video, Minaj described Trump as “a man who’s won three elections.”
The comment references Trump falsely claiming that he won the 2020 election over former President Biden. The president stated in 2023 that the election was “rigged,” adding that there is video evidence of ballot boxes being stuffed.
Minaj continued, “[Trump] wakes up at 4o’clock in the morning. He outworks people that you know are half his age, and you know what does that say about his character? He knows that he will be fine.”
“He can kick his feet up and just, you know, chill out for the rest of his presidency. But no, he’s paying it forward,” the singer said. “He’s thinking about the other Republicans that have to win during these elections, and so that tells me that he’s a great guy.”
In 2020 Minaj said she would not “jump on the Donald Trump bandwagon,” but in recent years she’s become a vocal supporter of the president.
She has previously appeared at a Treasury Department-hosted summit in Washington to launch “Trump Accounts” for newborn babies and Turning Point USA’s annual conference.
