Former President George W. Bush, who was in office on Sept. 11, 2001, will give remarks Wednesday to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the terrorist attacks.
In the aftermath of the tragic events, Bush created the Department of Homeland Security in 2002 to tackle future threats.
The ex-president will be speaking with his former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice from his presidential center at Southern Methodist University in Dallas.
He is also expected to attend the ceremony Friday at Ground Zero alongside former Presidents Obama, Biden and Clinton and Vice President Vance. President Trump will give remarks at the Pentagon.
The event is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. EDT.
