The Democratic Party’s official social platform X account posted a graphic Wednesday announcing that the three Democrats will have a rally in Atlanta next week.
Obama is already set to boost Democrats in other states this weekend — including a rally in Michigan for Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed, and an event in Ohio with Senate candidate Sherrod Brown and gubernatorial candidate Amy Acton.
“Georgia! I’ll be in Atlanta on October 28 for a rally to support @KeishaforGA, @Ossoff, and Democrats fighting to make your life better,” the former president wrote on social media Sunday.
Ossoff is facing a challenge from Rep. Mike Collins (R-Ga.) for his seat, while Bottoms is facing off against Republican candidate Rick Jackson for the Peach State’s top job.
The nonpartisan political handicapper Cook Political Report rates the Georgia governor’s race as a “toss-up” and the Senate race as “likely” Democratic.
Georgia, a key swing state , went for President Trump in the 2024 election and former President Biden in 2020.
Last week, Georgia set a midterm election record for the state’s first day of early voting, as more than 180,000 ballots were cast. Per the Georgia secretary of State’s office, the ballot total was around 50,000 more than the number who voted early on the first day four years ago.
