Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will give remarks Tuesday on efforts to reduce “harmful screen use” among children.

The administration has called for stronger protections for kids online, including steps for schools, families and technology companies to promote healthier digital habits. Kennedy’s push comes as lawmakers are also weighing legislation , including the House-passed Kids Online Safety Act , which would give parents more control over what children see online.

“Children today spend more time on screens than sleeping, exercising, or engaging face-to-face with family and friends — and we are seeing the consequences in rising rates of anxiety, depression, obesity, and developmental challenges,” the HHS chief said earlier this year , adding that the efforts will “Make Our Children Healthy Again.”

The press conference is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. EDT.
