Mississippi’s Democratic Senate candidate Scott Colom released a “Sinners”-themed campaign ad over Halloween weekend, days ahead of the upcoming midterm elections.

The ad, released on TikTok , pays homage to the Academy Award-winning movie set in the Mississippi Delta in 1932 starring Michael B. Jordan, who played twins in the movie.

The movie’s premise revolves around the twins returning to their hometown where they set up a temporary juke joint one evening, celebrating African American culture with music and dance. Their evening takes a dark turn when vampires try to attack the establishment drawn by the musical talent of a young performer.

The ad released by Colom, titled “Sinators,” shows the two men guarding a door as a blonde woman, who seems to be impersonating the Democrat’s opponent, Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith (R), tries to enter saying “please let me in, just give me one more chance, please.”

The conversation between the men revolves around holding the woman off “until the sun rises on election day.”

“She’s been feeding off Mississippi for years,” one of the brothers said in the ad. Colom posted the video with a caption that read “Sinators. Happy Halloween! (this is a joke!).”

The Senate race in Mississippi has been growing increasingly competitive with nonpartisan election forecasters shifting their ratings of the race from solid Republican to likely Republican. Decision Desk HQ , however, leans heavily in favor of Hyde-Smith, giving her a 91 percent chance of winning the race.

Recently, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) dropped $500,000 in the race in support of Colom.

President Trump traveled to the deep red state on Monday to boost voter turnout for the incumbent senator.
