Trump’s super PAC drops more than $800K on Graham in South Carolina

President Trump’s super PAC MAGA Inc. spent more than $827,000 to support Sen. Darline Graham (R-S.C.) ahead of the state’s Republican Senate primary runoff on Tuesday, marking the group’s most significant spending in months.

The filing with the Federal Election Commission, which was made public on Monday, marks the group’s first independent expenditure since March when it threw $18,000 behind now-Rep. Clay Fuller (R-Ga.) in the special election race to fill former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s (R-Ga.) seat.

MAGA Inc. spent more than $1 million to support now-Rep. Matt Van Epps (R-Tenn.) late last year in the race to replace former Rep. Mark Green (R-Tenn.).

The group’s haul supporting Graham comes as Trump signaled he will start spending money to help elect Republicans in the midterms.

“Well, I’ve raised a lot, and nobody knows what it is, but I will tell you it’s about $850 million,” Trump told reporters ahead of a campaign rally for Graham last week. “I’ll be spending a lot of that money for — and my own money — but I’ll be spending a lot of that money for candidates that I think are good, Republican candidates.”

According to invitations obtained by CBS News on Monday, MAGA Inc. is slated to hold two $1 million-per-person fundraisers this fall at Trump National Golf Club in Virginia and at Mar-a-Lago.

Republicans are facing an uphill battle in their bids to defend their majorities in the House and the Senate.
