Leavitt to work at Trump-affiliated super PAC following White House departure

Karoline Leavitt is set to work at President Trump’s MAGA Inc. super PAC following her departure from the White House , the outgoing press secretary confirmed Friday.

Leavitt shared her next career move with reporters outside of Air Force One Friday evening, a little over one week after she announced she would step down at the end of August to spend more time with her family.

She did not elaborate on what her title would be a MAGA Inc. — a Trump and GOP-aligned PAC reportedly sitting on over $350 million in campaign funds ahead of November’s midterms. Leavitt served as a spokesperson for the PAC before joining the president’s 2024 campaign.

“You guys will still see me all the time,” the outgoing press secretary told reporters Friday.

Leavitt also added that the Friday evening flight — a trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C. for a Sen. Darline Graham (R-S.C.) rally featuring the president — would be her last official outing as press secretary.

After Leavitt announced her departure, Trump said she would continue working with the White House as one of his “top advisers” and be an “influential voice within the Republican Party.” The press secretary herself said in her announcement that her “fight” against the Democratic Party would not end once she vacated the post.

The White House notably did not name an immediate replacement for Leavitt, who had returned from maternity leave in mid-July shortly before deciding to permanently leave the role. Trump commented on mounting speculation surrounding who would be her replacement, signaling that he had several options and that the choice would be difficult.

“I will tell you this, and Karoline will tell you this, I have never seen so many job applications in my life,” Trump told reporters Friday.

Top contenders for the role reportedly include CNN conservative commentator Scott Jennings and Katie Miller, the wife of White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller, among others.

Although Leavitt confirmed the Myrtle Beach rally would be her last event serving as press secretary, she said Friday that she still planned to join the president throughout the midterms campaign trail, including at September’s GOP convention in Dallas.
