The Republican National Committee announced Monday that President Trump will campaign in Rock Hill, S.C., on Thursday, marking his second trip to the Palmetto State within the span of a week.
Trump campaigned last week in Clemson, in an effort to boost Sen. Darline Graham (R-S.C.) in her race against Democrat Annie Andrews.
The campaign stop will take place in the Charlotte, N.C., media market, given Rock Hill’s location on the North Carolina border, meaning the visit will likely also be used to boost Republican Michael Whatley in his Senate race against former North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper (D).
Trump campaigned Tuesday for Whatley in Greenville, N.C.
Both Senate races have become increasingly competitive in the last few weeks before Election Day. The nonpartisan Cook Political Report rates North Carolina’s Senate race as “likely Democrat” and moved South Carolina’s Senate race from “likely Republican” to lean Republican” last week.
Trump’s trip to Rock Hill is the latest in a series of trips he is taking in the final week before Election Day. Trump is slated to visit Mississippi on Monday, Texas on Tuesday, Ohio on Wednesday and Florida on Friday. The president will also campaign in Iowa on Sunday.
