White House press secretary Katie Zacharia will face reporters Tuesday morning for the first time since taking over as the Trump administration’s top spokesperson , just three weeks before the midterm elections.
Zacharia, a conservative commentator and former communications adviser for Trump Media, succeeds Karoline Leavitt, who departed the role earlier this year. Leavitt will join Fox News as a contributor in November.
The latest briefing comes as President Trump faces mounting political pressure over the economy , the war in Iran and his administration’s handling of political adversaries, including Monday’s federal raid on Rep. Ilhan Omar’s (D-Minn.) home in Washington.
The briefing also marks a new chapter for the White House’s relationship with the press amid ongoing disputes over media access.
The event is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. EDT.
