( NewsNation ) — Singer Jelly Roll’s stint guest hosting a late-night talk show has angered supporters of President Trump.

The music artist, whose real name is Jason DeFord, laughed at the backlash over jokes he made about Trump on Monday while hosting “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”

“Any U.S. president should be able to handle a few jokes, right?” he said on Tuesday’s episode .

The “Hands Up” singer made jabs at the president’s weight on Monday, while also poking fun at himself over his 300-pound weight loss .

“That means I’ve lost an entire Donald Trump,” he said. “And let’s be honest, based on his approval ratings , it seems like most of the country wants to do the same thing.”

He added, “From one fat pig to another, take it from me that physical fitness is very important. Trust me, you’ll be happy to see your p—- again.”

Fans of the president weren’t happy at the jokes aimed at Trump, expressing their anger on social media.

“Jelly Roll is a traitor,” user Eagle Wings wrote on social platform X .

The poster added, “Country star. Grammy winner. Built his whole brand on the blue-collar, working-class, ‘one of us’ image. Fans thought he was different. Some even gave him a pass after he met Trump in 2024.”

Another user called out Jelly Roll over the quips, which he said were “attacks” on Trump, calling him an “Ozempic enthusiast” and a “complete fraud.”

The performer told fans threatening to stop listening to his music to “go right ahead.”

“As a former felon and drug dealer, who has lost 300 pounds, has tattoos all over his face—and won three Grammys — this is the weirdest thing I’ve ever done to ‘stun’ people,” he joked about a headline saying his jokes left viewers “stunned.”
