Zuckerberg, Altman, other Big Tech moguls among attendees at Trump-Xi dinner

President Trump hosted Chinese President Xi Jinping at the White House for a state dinner Thursday, whose guest list is full of tech billionaires and some of the world’s most powerful business leaders.

Dressed in black tuxedoes, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, OpenAI co-founder Sam Altman, Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos were among the corporate elite invited to attend the dinner, according to a guest list released by the White House.

The dinner capped a day of pageantry and diplomacy for Xi’s visit to Washington, where the two leaders confronted tensions over trade, artificial intelligence and Taiwan before turning to the ceremonial side of the state visit.

Trump had already touted the demand for an invitation to the highly anticipated dinner earlier in the week.

“Everyone wants to be there,” Trump said during the United Nations General Assembly. “It’s the hottest ticket in town.”

When asked who made the cut, Trump said the guest list stretched across corporate America.

“Sort of everybody,” he said, adding that it included “the entire tech world, the entire banking world and a lot more.”

The final list includes dozens of executives from Silicon Valley, Wall Street and other major industries, alongside members of Trump’s Cabinet, lawmakers, Supreme Court justices, media figures and several of Trump’s family members.

The heavy presence of technology executives, including Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, came as competition over AI and advanced computer chips loomed over Xi’s visit.

Nvidia and other U.S. chipmakers have been caught in the crossfire between Washington’s efforts to curb China’s access to advanced technology and the enormous Chinese market.

Trump and first lady Melania Trump, who opted for a tuxedo-inspired look with an oversized bow, greeted Xi and his wife, Peng Liyuan, at the White House before the dinner.

Other industry leaders on the guest list include Google and Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai, Paramount Skydance CEO David Ellison and former Apple CEO Tim Cook.

Billionaire Bernard Arnault, CEO of the French luxury goods company LVMH which owns major fashion brands including Louis Vuitton and Christian Dior, was accompanied by his son, Alexandre Arnault.

Supreme Court Justices John Roberts, Amy Coney Barrett and Brett Kavanaugh were also on the guest list.

The dinner was held in the White House East Room, with the meal served on fine china dating back to the Reagan administration.
