Fox News anchor Jesse Watters warned that if Republicans cannot return to power in Texas, the GOP may never win the presidency again.

Watters said during his show Thursday night that Democrats’ sweeping wins in the midterm elections could be a death knell for Republicans’ chances of winning future presidential elections.

Democrats won all statewide elections on the ballot Tuesday, leaving Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) as the only remaining GOP statewide official in the Lone Star State.

“They seize Texas and are on pace for the biggest midterm landslide since Watergate,” Watters said. “Now, if Texas stays blue, a Republican will never sniff the White House ever again.”

The Fox News personality said Republicans had two years to target Democratic opponents without many clear successes, warning that Democrats won’t “take it easy” on the GOP.

“They want it extinguished. They’re already talking about abolishing the Electoral College, impeaching the president, and executing Elon Musk. Democrat governors now control a majority of states where most of the population lives,” Watters added.

No Democratic elected official has called for the execution of Musk.

Watters said Democrats’ near-win among white voters this cycle reinforced the Republican struggle. After showing a video of a Texas Democratic lawmaker talking about minority races joining to form a majority voting bloc in America, Watters said after Tuesday — that could work.

“They’re talking about uniting the minority races against whites. Texas Democrat politicians are declaring a political race war. And they could win, because Republicans nearly lost the white vote Tuesday,” he said.

“Democrats are on the cusp of winning a majority of whites, Blacks and Hispanics. Open borders is suicide. The Democrats are about to win a Senate seat in Mississippi. Black guy. That’s like Republicans winning Hawaii,” Watters continued.

The Fox News host said “a lot” of the blame for the midterm losses can also be pinned on the candidates, specifically Ken Paxton (R) in Texas and Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-Miss.). He said the GOP’s loss Tuesday was not a usual midterm correction.

“This wasn’t your standard midterm thumping,” Watters said. “When [former President] Obama got blown out in 2010 and 2014, those races were close. And he didn’t almost lose the Black vote like Republicans almost lost the white vote.”
