Anthony Scaramucci weighed in on Katie Zacharia’s departure as White House press secretary Friday, noting her tenure was less than his as communications director at just five days in the role.

“Records are made to be broken,” he wrote on social platform X . “But I take no pleasure in other people’s pain.”

Scaramucci famously served just 11 days as President Trump’s White House communications director during the president’s first term.

Social media users have joked in recent days about whether Zacharia would last “one Scaramucci” after her first press briefing Tuesday was heavily scrutinized . Bets were also being taken on the prediction market site Kalshi over when she would depart the role.

“The clock is running. Thus far 1/11th of a Scaramucci,” the ex-Trump official wrote online earlier this week .

A White House official confirmed to The Hill that Zacharia is “transitioning out” of the role as the president’s top spokesperson.

She was appointed just last week to step into the role, after Karoline Leavitt left the position earlier this year. At her first briefing, Zacharia spoke for 14 minutes and took questions from only three members of the media.

Trump signaled her departure in remarks to reporters Friday before departing the White House for Georgia.

“I said, ‘Honestly, if I were you, I’d reconsider,’” the president said, referring to a conversation he said he had with Zacharia earlier.

“I said, ‘You think about it, but I would reconsider,’” he continued.

Zacharia had also been making headlines over her legal history . In the past she has identified herself as a lawyer on TV, but a report found that she was not licensed to practice law in any state, including California where she resides.

When asked about where she took the bar exam from reporters earlier this week, she said, “when I moved to China.”

The Wall Street Journal reported later that evening that Zacharia had failed the bar exam .

On subsequent news interviews, she failed to clear the issue up.

Zacharia told conservative news outlet Real America’s Voice that she “misheard” the question about where she took the bar exam, adding later that the test’s results were “inconsequential.”
