Rep. Neal Dunn (R-Fla.) is seen during the annual Friends of Ireland Luncheon at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C., on March 17, 2026.

Austin Rogers (R) is projected to defeat Amanda Marie Green (D) in Florida’s 2nd District, according to Decision Desk HQ .

Rogers will succeed retiring Rep. Neal Dunn (R-Fla.). Dunn, 73, will depart the lower chamber at the end of his fifth term representing the Panhandle-based district.

Rogers led Green by about 4 percentage points with 95 percent of the vote reported, according to DDHQ as of 9:02 p.m. Tuesday.

By virtue of his victory over Green, a former U.S. Agency for International Development contractor, Rogers clinches a return to Capitol Hill.

The Republican lawyer was a legal counsel for the Senate Judiciary Committee from the fall of 2023 to mid-2025. He was then Florida Sen. Rick Scott’s (R) general counsel for less than a year, before launching his congressional campaign in January.

Rogers emerged from a crowded Republican field in the August primary , capturing the nomination over the likes of businessman Keith Gross and Florida GOP Chair Evan Power.

He then defeated Green, a result election handicappers anticipated going into Election Day.

Dunn also won the district by more than 20 percentage points in all but one of his five victories from 2016 through 2024.

Rogers aligned himself with Dunn on the campaign trail, saying in August the outgoing lawmaker “has set a high standard for conservative leadership” while in Congress.

He also vowed to be a “reliable” vote for President Trump’s agenda and called Trump the “most consequential President of our lifetime” on his campaign website.
