The Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) will gain more than 10 new members after Democrats’ election night success, boosting the group to its largest membership ever.

“In December, the CHC will celebrate its 50th anniversary with more than 50 incoming Members joining our ranks, making this the largest Congressional Hispanic Caucus in history. This milestone is a testament to the communities, generations of leaders, and advocates who fought to ensure that Latinos have a seat at the table and a voice in shaping our nation’s future,” the caucus said in a Wednesday statement.

While CHC Chair Adriano Espaillat (D-N.Y.) lost his primary , his district will now be represented by democratic socialist Darializa Avila Chevalier, a Latina woman.

Rep. Darren Soto (D-Fla.), who was in a tight race to retain his Orlando-area district, appears to have pulled out a win and will now lead the CHC.

The caucus also made gains in other races, with Hispanic candidates winning new seats in Texas, California and Nebraska.

In Texas, Tejano music star Bobby Pulido (D) defeated Rep. Monica De La Cruz (R), flipping that seat , while Johnny Garcia (D) defeated her brother Carlos De La Cruz (R) in a nearby district’s race.

President Trump’s aggressive immigration enforcement targeting migrants with no criminal history, as well as surging prices, are among the issues attributed to a leftward shift from many Latino voters.

“This election cycle, Latino voters demonstrated their power and influence in shaping the political landscape of this country. We are Americans, and we are America,” the CHC said in its statement.

“Our communities are not an afterthought in our democracy. Our representation is growing, our voices are stronger, and no one can afford to take Latino voters for granted.”
