Watch live: Trump rallies in Fort Myers, Florida

President Trump will rally in Fort Myers, Fla., on Friday as Republicans in the state are feeling bullish about statewide races.

Fort Myers is part of the 19th Congressional District, where Rep. Byron Donalds (R) vacated his seat to run for governor. Donalds is favored to win against Democrat David Jolly in the race to replace term-limited Gov. Ron DeSantis (R), while Republican Jim Schwartzel is a heavy favorite to beat Democrat Victor Arias to fill Donalds’s seat.

Sen. Ashley Moody (R) is also leading in polls against Democrat Angie Nixon in her first election, after being tapped by DeSantis to replace Marco Rubio when he became secretary of State.

Florida’s 19th fits into a trend of Trump visiting safe red districts during his final midterm blitz, with the GOP facing stiff headwinds in battleground states across the country.

Trump is scheduled to speak at Friday’s rally at 2 p.m. EDT.
