The October 25 filing points to communications that Beatty's legal team believes could clarify the administration's involvement in the shutdown.

According to the complaint, 19 text messages were passed between Harp and the center's chief executive Matt Floca. Eleven of them were exchanged on the day the board convened for a third meeting to approve the closure.

Beatty's attorneys allege that Trump's team has sought to keep the exchanges private by claiming they were privileged presidential communications.

However, they argue that the messages, particularly those involving Harp, show "near-constant contact" between Trump's associates and the venue's leadership as plans for the closure progressed.

The legal team also accused the administration of potentially engaging in "gamesmanship" by restricting access to relevant records.

"Without access to these materials, (Beatty) will lack a complete picture of Defendants' actions," the filing read, per Irish Star .
