President Trump will campaign in Michigan next week, marking what is slated to be his seventh campaign stop in a seven-day stretch.
The Republican National Committee on Friday said Trump will headline a rally in St. Clair County, Mich., on Oct. 25 following an appearance in Macon, Ga., the day prior.
Trump’s midterm travel schedule is packed next week. On Monday, he will rally Republicans in Wichita, Kan., before heading to Greenville, N.C., on Tuesday. The president will then campaign in Clemson, S.C., on Wednesday, Sioux City, Iowa, on Thursday and Fort Myers, Fla., on Friday.
Michigan is home to highly competitive gubernatorial, Senate and House races. The state’s Senate race has been in the national spotlight, with many Democrats saying they are growing increasingly optimistic about Democrat Abdul El-Sayed’s chances of winning.
Progressive Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) campaigned with El-Sayed in the Wolverine State this week, and former President Obama is set to campaign there on Oct. 24 — a day before Trump’s visit.
Vice President Vance campaigned with Republican Senate nominee, former Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Mich.), on Thursday.
While Rogers has appeared with Trump on the campaign trail in Michigan, he has made an effort to distance himself from some of the president’s policies — including his tariffs and trade war with Canada.
