Former Vice President Kamala Harris and the NAACP are set to host midterm town halls to drive voters in swing states to the polls amid speculation about a 2028 presidential bid from Harris.

“Our work doesn’t begin or end on Election Day. From voter education to grassroots organizing, we remain committed to building informed, engaged communities,” said Derrick Johnson, President and CEO of the NAACP. “We look forward to continuing that work alongside Vice President Harris in Milwaukee and Atlanta.”

Harris is slated to take the stage on Oct. 26 in Milwaukee, Wis. as the state decides who will take the state’s open gubernatorial seat after Gov. Tony Evers (D) announced his retirement.

On Oct. 29, the former vice president will appear in Atlanta, Ga. as Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-Ga.) fights to retain his seat for a second term against Rep. Mike Collins (R).

While Harris recently said she was “ undecided ” on a presidential run, many see her as a top contender to serve as Democrats’ nominee, recent polls suggest. Harris said in February that she “might” run in 2028.

A Focaldata/Financial Times poll found 30 percent of respondents chose Harris as the next presidential Democratic nominee over other popular choices such California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D), Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) and former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg.

Newsom has been honest about not running for president if Harris decides to, and Ocasio-Cortez told the New York Times that she thinks about the possibility of running for president “ personally .”

Harris has embarked on a campaign blitz in October before Election Day with other stops in Mississippi and New Hampshire, according to her office.

“‘28 don’t matter if we don’t do ‘26 right. What’s right in front of us,” Harris added when talking with actress Keke Palmer.
