New Hampshire Democratic Party Vice Chair Maura Sullivan and former Portsmouth City Council member Stefany Shaheen are facing off for their party’s nod in the primary for the House seat left open by Rep. Chris Pappas (D).

Sullivan holds a narrow lead of Stefany Shaheen, the daughter of retiring Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.), in recent polling . Pappas is running for Jeanne Shaheen’s Senate seat.

Stefany Shaheen and Sullivan have locked horns over outside spending and the former’s last name on the campaign trail. Seven other candidates will also run on the Democratic ballot, including progressive Carleigh Beriont.

On the other side of the aisle, car dealership owner Anthony DiLorenzo is duking it out against former state Republican Party Vice Chair Hollie Noveletsky for the GOP nomination. DiLorenzo is endorsed by President Trump.
