Trump boasts his endorsements are ‘stronger than ever’

President Trump on Sunday boasted his endorsements are “stronger than ever,” despite some prominent losses in recent primaries.

“My Endorsements are stronger than ever — Not to mention the fact that good people are getting elected that never had the chance,” the president wrote in a Sunday evening Truth Social post , boasting that 254 candidates with his backing won their races this cycle.

According to a graphic included with the post, that translates to a 97 percent overall success rate in 262 races.

However, Trump-endorsed candidates lost congressional races in Florida, Tennessee and Michigan in recent weeks.

Rep. Cory Mills (R-Fla.) lost his reelection bid to TV anchor Ryan Elijah, while Rep. Andy Ogles (R-Tenn.) lost his reelection bid to former Tennessee Agriculture Commissioner Charlie Hatcher.

Amir Hassan in Michigan also fell short in his run for a House seat after receiving Trump’s endorsement.

Trump’s endorsements will be put to the test again this week, with Trump-backed Sen. Darline Graham (R-S.C.) facing Rep. Ralph Norman (R-S.C.) in a runoff for a Senate seat in the Palmetto State. The president’s pick for Oklahoma governor, Mike Mazzei, is also vying against state Attorney General Gentner Drummond (R) for the party’s nomination.

The president on Sunday said that those who lost their races with his endorsement were already “impossible” candidates.

“It is an Honor that I take very seriously,” Trump said of his endorsements. “The few that lost were done out of loyalty. It was almost impossible for them to win but, I felt obligated to go with them because they were, in my opinion, good people.”
