Federal and local officials will give remarks Thursday afternoon, days ahead of the weekend’s Freedom 250 Grand Prix event on the National Mall.

The briefing on Capitol Hill will include safety protocols, travel information and outline the 1.7-mile course. Racers will loop around the National Archives, National Gallery of Art and Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, according to a map released by IndyCar on Monday.

President Trump and first lady Melania Trump are also expected to take a ceremonial lap around the course in “The Beast.”

The preview is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. EDT.
