Live updates: Trump envoys to meet with Zelensky; White House to announce whistleblower initiative

President Trump’s envoys will hold meetings Tuesday in Norway with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, along with the leaders of Norway and Finland, the Norwegian government said, as Trump pushes for an end to Russia and Ukraine’s nearly five-year conflict.

Trump on Monday told reporters, “All I want for Russia and Ukraine is for them to stop the stupid war.” Steve Witkoff will meet with Zelensky and others in person, with Jared Kushner meeting virtually.

Trump and Vice President Vance on Tuesday are set to make an announcement on a whistleblower “incentive program” from the Oval Office at 1:30 p.m. EDT.

“Every day, President Trump’s Task Force to Eliminate Fraud is zeroing in on the rampant abuse of taxpayer dollars and giving Americans the accountability they deserve. This administration has zero tolerance for individuals who steal from Americans,” White House spokesperson Lauren Bis said.

With just two weeks before November’s midterms, Trump will continue his GOP midterm tour later in the day, travelling to Greenville, N.C., for a rally.

He is expected to make a case for Republican National Committee Chair Michael Whatley, but polls place his Democratic opponent Gov. Roy Cooper firmly in the lead . The president also hosted a rally last month in Gastonia, N.C.
