Homeland Security Posts Stoic Portrait of Trump with Chilling Caption: ‘Did You Remain Loyal?’

The post comes amid ICE arrests, visa revocations, and a Supreme Court ruling on mail-in voting restrictions

Additionally, the post followed Trump's confirmation that ICE will investigate Rep. Ilhan Omar over immigration fraud allegations, which she has denied

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) published a cryptic post calling out opponents of President Donald Trump .

On Monday, Aug. 24, the DHS X account posted a portrait of the president, in which he stares directly at the camera with a skeptical expression.

"Did you remain loyal?" a caption on the photo reads.

The post was shared in response to right-wing political commentator Christian Heiens' post celebrating headlines favorable to the Trump administration, all published by Insider Wire. "It's just a series of generational wins after another," Heiens wrote .

One of the headlines referenced DHS' Monday, Aug. 24, announcement that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested 1,328 immigrants in Virginia and Maryland between Aug. 1 and Aug. 14.

"The brave men and women of ICE are hard at work every single day getting these dangerous illegal aliens out of our country," DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin said. "They arrested sexual assailants, kidnappers, drunk drivers, robbers, and gang members."

That same day, DHS announced a plan to revoke the visas of up to 200,000 foreign citizens who are visa holders and asylum applicants, who initially came to the U.S. with temporary tourism or business visas, The New York Times reported.

"Under President Trump and [Secretary of State Marco Rubio's] leadership, we are making clear that a visa is a privilege — not a right," State Department spokesman Tommy Pigott said, adding that DHS and the State Department are working together on the next steps.

Another headline in Heiens' post referenced the Supreme Court's Aug. 24 decision on Trump's executive order restricting mail-in voting. The Supreme Court paused a lower court's ruling blocking the order, NPR reported.

Trump issued the order in March, but the new ruling found that the 23 states and Washington, D.C., that sued the administration over the order were not legally allowed to.

The Supreme Court's decision comes days before some states will be sending out midterm election mail-in ballots to overseas and military voters, the Associated Press reported.

Heiens' post also included a headline about the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals' Aug. 24 ruling lifting a preliminary injunction that restricted Border Patrol immigration enforcement operations in California. The plaintiff in that case was the labor union United Farm Workers of America.

In the suit, the union alleged that Border Patrol agents were arresting workers "in violation of their Fourth Amendment Rights," per Courthouse News Service . The court's ruling does not preclude United Farm Workers from pursuing further legal action if they are able to prove "new allegations of harm," the three-judge panel wrote.

"Without assurance of standing, we lift the preliminary injunction, but if new allegations of harm arise during the pendency of this remand, nothing precludes the district court from considering additional requests for relief," the judges wrote.

The last headline featured in Heiens' post was about Trump's latest TruthSocial post on an ICE investigation into U.S. Rep Ilhan Omar over allegations of immigration fraud. Omar, a Minnesota Democrat, has denied the allegations.
