President Trump’s pick to succeed term-limited Gov. Kevin Stitt in Oklahoma is duking it out in a Tuesday GOP runoff for the party’s nod.
Mike Mazzei, a former state senator and state budget secretary, is facing off against state Attorney General Gentner Drummond. Trump has called Drummond a “fake Republican,” ripping the candidate for not having an opinion “on the BOGUS IMPEACHMENT of a young and very handsome gentleman, named, President Donald J. Trump (ME!).”
Drummond narrowly led Mazzei in the initial June 16 primary by about 1,100 votes. The winner of Tuesday’s runoff is the favorite to win the November election in the ruby red state.
