Trump’s MAGA Inc. funnels another $5 million into Texas Senate race

President Trump’s super PAC, MAGA Inc., poured an additional $5 million into the Texas Senate race, according to a new Federal Election Commission (FEC) filing published Saturday.

The funds were earmarked for Del Ray Media LLC, a Virginia-based political media company, for TV and digital advertising against the Democratic nominee in this race, state Rep. James Talarico.

This marks the super PAC’s latest contribution to a pricey ad campaign battle between Republican state attorney general Ken Paxton and Talarico as they go head-to-head in this competitive race for GOP Sen. John Cornyn’s Senate seat.

In an FEC filing published earlier this month, the president’s campaign funding arm gave Del Ray Media $10 million to fund two attack ads targeting Talarico’s campaign.

Paxton’s campaign has also received nearly $54 million from the GOP-aligned Senate Leadership Fund’s (SLF) Texas affiliate, according to FEC filings.

The state attorney general was significantly trailing behind his Democratic opponent on campaign fundraising at the end of June, with Talarico’s campaign reporting about $21.5 million in cash on hand compared to Paxton’s around $1.76 million available funds, according to FEC data.

The two candidates are locked in a dead heat in the polls with less than seven weeks until the November election. The Democrat posted a one-point lead on the attorney general in a Hill/Emerson College Polling survey released Thursday.

The Cook Political Report , a nonpartisan election handicapper, rates this race as a “toss up.”

Republicans have placed pressure on the president to unleash his massive campaign war chest for the midterm races as the party seeks to maintain its control in both chambers of Congress this fall.

Trump has pledged to spend between $400 million and $500 million on midterm races, saving the rest of the super PAC’s funds for the 2028 presidential election cycle. The president pegged MAGA Inc.’s total cash on hand at “close to a billion dollars,” but the super PAC reported $403.45 million at the end of July in FEC filings .
