Halloween candy sold in 13 states recalled

( WJW ) — Halloween candy sold at popular retailers in 13 states is being recalled because it contains undeclared milk allergens, according to a company announcement posted by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

According to the recall notice Monday, Crystal Temptations of North Arlington, N.J., is recalling its Halloween Chocolatey Eyeballs . The recalled product was sold under the Crystal Temptations brand at Marshalls , TJ Maxx , Homegoods , and Sierra Trading post .

The candy was distributed in Arizona, Texas, Virginia, Georgia, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Indiana, Nevada, California, New Jersey, Connecticut, Ohio and Wyoming.

“People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products,” the company warned in the notice.

The recalled Crystal Temptations Chocolatey Eyeballs can be identified by the style number and packaging shown on the product label, as listed below:

So far, no illnesses have been reported.

Consumers who bought the recalled chocolate are urged to destroy it. For a refund, contact Crystal Temptations directly, not the place of purchase, the notice says.
