Gurgaon road rage: 4 men smash car window, then attack complainants outside police station

GURGAON: Four men allegedly intercepted a car and smashed its window on Thursday before attacking the complainant and two of his associates outside New Colony police station, where they had gone to lodge a complaint about the incident.The complainant, Gautam, a resident of Madanpuri, told police he was driving towards New Colony after taking a U-turn near Hari’s Bakery when a Scorpio N (HR26FG5726) overtook his car and forced him to stop.Four men allegedly got out of the SUV and tried to open his car door. When they failed, they allegedly smashed the window, and the broken glass hit Gautam’s face. He told police he suspected the men had come to rob him and were carrying illegal weapons.Gautam said he managed to drive away and called his friends Ravindra Kataria and Sandeep Dahiya. The three then went to New Colony police station to lodge a complaint. Gautam told police that a dashcam in his car had recorded the incident.Police said an emergency response vehicle received information about the incident near Aryan Hospital in Sector 7. A team reached the spot and found Gautam, Ravindra and Sandeep there, but the Scorpio had left.Police later found the SUV parked near Sai Temple at New Colony turn. Gautam told police its occupants had entered a hotel opposite the spot. A police team went to the hotel and found three men — Ajay, Mohit and Piyush Bhardwaj — in room 105. Police said the three had consumed alcohol and took them into custody.A fourth man, identified as Shivam, was apprehended while allegedly fighting with Gautam and his friends near the police station.Police said that after getting out of the police vehicle, Mohit joined Shivam and allegedly attacked Gautam, Ravindra and Sandeep near the station gate. Police personnel intervened and all four accused were taken for medical examination at Sector 10 govt hospital.Ravindra and Sandeep were also medically examined. Their reports recorded five and two injuries, respectively.
