Two women killed in lightning strike near Sivaganga
Two women farmers, 47 and 65, were killed when lightning struck a tree they sheltered under during rain near Ilayangudi, Sivaganga district.
Sivaganga: Two women farmers were killed after a lightning strike while they were taking shelter under a tree during rain near Ilayangudi in Sivaganga district on Wednesday.The deceased were identified as Savariammal, 47, and Periya Karuppi, 65, both residents of Thiruvallur village near Ilayangudi.According to police, the two women were engaged in agricultural work in a field when it began raining suddenly. They reportedly took shelter under a nearby tree to escape the downpour.
